Graphic Design / Project
Project Story
A documentary title sequence for Avicenna, translating his interconnected worlds of medicine, philosophy and science into a cinematic architecture of light, line and geometry.
Concept
The sequence is built around the idea of “The Architecture of Knowledge”, presenting Avicenna’s mind as a connected system in which medicine, philosophy, mathematics, astronomy and the natural world converge. Fine lines, geometry and light gradually form relationships, turning abstract knowledge into a precise, evolving visual structure.
Challenge / Question
How can a familiar historical portrait of Avicenna be transformed into a contemporary cinematic title sequence that reflects both the man and the breadth of his ideas?
Approach & Process
The process began by exploring how Avicenna’s intellectual legacy could be expressed through a contemporary visual language. After developing several directions, the chosen approach centred on the well-known portrait of Avicenna, using controlled movement, light and graphic elements to gradually reveal and transform the image. The sequence was refined through a series of visual studies and motion tests, balancing the historical portrait with a restrained cinematic treatment suitable for a documentary title.
